Stroud: The Gateway to The Cotswolds
Stroud is a busy market town with an eclectic mix of shops, cafes and galleries and well-established Farmers Market. Situated on the western escarpment of the Cotswold hills and at the meeting point of five valleys; the scenery provides inspiration for artists, authors and musicians. A network of Canals used previously as trade routes are being restored to provide leisure facilities and award-winning vineyards adorn the valley slopes. In 2021, The Sunday Times named Stroud as the best place to live in the UK.
The Cotswolds
The Cotswolds is designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty, it spans through six counties including Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Somerset (NE) Warwickshire, Wiltshire and Worcestershire; covering almost 800 square miles. The Cotswolds is known for its many beautiful countryside walks and picturesque villages.
Gloucester Cathedral
The skyline of the County town of Gloucestershire is dominated by Gloucester Cathedral. Over its 900-year history, as well as a place of worship, it has been used for the coronation of Henry III, the final resting place of Edward II, and even as a TV and film set. Visitors come to the Cathedral to marvel at the history and architecture; and of course to walk in the footsteps of Harry Potter along the Cathedrals acclaimed Cloisters.
