Mixed-mode Chromatography Resins
Mixed-mode chromatography combines two or more interaction mechanisms within a single resin, offering unique selectivity that cannot be achieved through traditional ion exchange or hydrophobic interaction alone. This makes it a powerful tool for the purification of complex and difficult-to-separate biomolecules such as antibodies, viral vectors, and proteins with closely related impurities.
Astrea Bioseparations’ MiMode™ PuraBead® mixed-mode resins harness combinations of hydrophobic, anion exchange, and cation exchange interactions to expand the separation space. This enables superior removal of aggregates, host cell proteins, and other process-related impurities, maximising both yield and purity. Product families include hydrophobic, anion exchange, and cation exchange mixed-mode resins tailored for diverse applications.
Built on our proprietary PuraBead® base bead, manufactured via unique atomisation technology, these resins provide high mechanical strength, low backpressure, and excellent scalability. This ensures robust, reproducible performance across scales, from early development to full GMP production.
