Mixed-mode chromatography resins
Mixed-mode chromatography resins combine two or more interaction mechanisms within a single ligand, delivering selectivity beyond traditional ion exchange (IEX) or hydrophobic interaction chromatography (HIC). This expanded selectivity makes mixed-mode chromatography a valuable tool for downstream purification of complex biomolecules, including monoclonal antibodies, viral vectors, and recombinant proteins with closely related impurities.
Astrea Bioseparations’ MiMode PuraBead® mixed-mode chromatography resins integrate hydrophobic, anion exchange, and cation exchange interactions to broaden the separation space and improve process performance. These resins are designed to enhance removal of aggregates, host cell proteins, and other process-related impurities, supporting high yield and purity across a range of bioprocessing applications. The portfolio includes hydrophobic, anion exchange, and cation exchange mixed-mode resins tailored to diverse purification strategies.
Built on the proprietary PuraBead® base bead and manufactured using our unique atomization technology, MiMode PuraBead® resins provide high mechanical strength, low backpressure, and reliable scalability. This supports consistent, reproducible performance from early-stage process development through GMP biologics manufacturing.
